Founded in 1925 for 21 students on 8 acres with a single building (Cecelio Lodge) our school today now serves over 1,500 students.
Each student decade will remember the building projects and fundraisers – the library, the swimming pool, the audio-visual centre. Our development effort is guided by the Principal, Board of Management and the SAHS Foundation collaborating to determine priority needs.
Master Plan – A Master Plan is being developed to guide all future development.
Legacy Endowment Fund – A robust endowment or investment fund is essential to ensure the school’s financial sustainability. Gifting with Guardian Life Insurance names the Legacy Fund as your beneficiary. As invested capital builds, withdrawals fund development projects or other operating needs.
Student Housing – The school’s acquisition of Mrs. Fay Simpson’s property in 2012 was renovated to provide staff housing. Plans are to develop further to provide safe housing for students.
Emrie James Museum – Jamaica’s first purpose-built school museum is a celebration of the evolving St Andrew story since 1925. The Museum the first stop for old girls and an important resource for current students. Donations fund an active programme of events, seminars and presentations for students and the community.
Greatest Need – In these demanding times there is always need for donations to assist somewhere in the school. If you can’t decide on a specific fund, we are happy to apply your donation to where there is greatest need at the time.
