Key Scripture: Ecclesiastes 9:11- I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
As students we tend to get discouraged when we see someone achieving A’s whilst we are getting all C’s or when we fail a test and often times thoughts run through our heads like “wah mek she brighter than me?” or “why me cya do this and she can?”.
We tend to compare ourselves to other people; in essence comparing our race to another person’s race. But in this race of life the only persons we are racing against is ourselves. We should be trying to run faster than the last time we ran, rather than trying to beat someone else in a race that you aren’t even in. We as students need to learn to trust God and his perfect timing because if we do put in the work we will indeed reap the rewards.
So rather than comparing yourself to others, try to improve yourself!
