The ties that bind each of us to St. Andrew are varied and diverse. Wherever in the world there is an Andrews girl there are ways to get involved usually through an area association or chapter.

In Jamaica, the St. Andrew Old Girls’ Association (SAOGA) is an easy choice for getting involved.  SAOGA works hard and actively throughout the school year to assist current students and the school.

12 Ways to Give Back to Your Alma Mater 

  1. Join SAOGA.  Dues at J$1,500/year or J$125/month fund Association programmes at the school.

  2. Mentor a student for a school year (or longer, if you so choose)

  3. Donate to the Student Welfare Fund or the Feed-a-Sister programme – breakfast & lunch for needy students.

  4. Sponsor a student for just Ja $600/month (bus fare / books)

  5. Join an event planning committee – Valentine Dinner, Carol Service

  6. Provide a holiday job

  7. Fund a scholarship to a current student or graduate

  8. Volunteer to address classes/year groups on Career Day/ during Guidance sessions

  9. Sing, pray, read the lesson or play the piano during SAOGA-led devotions

  10. Run for your house on Sports Day (usually last Friday of January)

  11. Become a Year Group or Decade “Champion” to liaise between the Association and old girls in your year group/ decade.

  12. Support SAOGA and SAHS Foundation fundraisers or social events
